Y-CBT Treatment Model for Adults
People who struggle with anxiety are always prepared for the worst; they are prepared to fail. These negative thought processes create a negative tension in the body. The mind triggers the tension in the body, and the tension in the body fuels the negative thought.
Y-CBT blends the effective therapeutic components of cognitive behavioral therapy with Kundalini yoga to teach participant to break the cycle of anxiety by targeting both the cognitive (thought) and physical symptoms of anxiety simultaneously. The program helps the participant create a neutral place that leaves self-judgment and criticism behind. Using gentle cognitive restructuring the participant learns to quiet negative self-talk of anxiety and worry, while also calming the body with a variety of yoga and breathing techniques from Kundalini yogic traditions.
Y-CBT Treatment Model for Adults offers a 6-week group treatment program that provides participants with a progressive treatment model, which offers skills to impact the cognitive and physical symptoms of anxiety and depression. The model also targets the inter and intra personal struggles that one faces when managing the problematic symptoms of anxiety and depression. The yoga component is adapted for all populations, virtually all done in chairs.
